Why I am building this
“I grew up here my whole life and I still almost missed it.”
The idea started in Chicago, when a basic city pass made me wonder what a more personal version built for Oʻahu could feel like. Back home, I kept coming back to the same thing: thoughtful travelers want to get closer to Hawaiʻi, but it can be hard to know where to start or who to trust.
I am not a cultural authority or a spokesperson for Native Hawaiian communities. I am someone from Nuʻuanu trying to build a careful bridge to the people, businesses, and organizations already doing remarkable work here, and help more travelers see why that work matters.
